Common Car Parts and When To Replace Them
Your vehicle has a lot of parts that keep it running. If anything happens to one of those important vehicle components, the vehicle will not function properly. Unfortunately, whether due to wear and tear from constant use or just age, many of those car parts need to be occasionally replaced. Replacing those parts is the easy part. The hard part is knowing when to do so! Each vehicle’s parts may need to be replaced at different times. However, for some parts, there is a general rule of thumb on when to replace them. Our service team has assembled a list of common car parts and when they need to be replaced.

Brake Pads
Brake pads are one part of your vehicle that you do not want to stop working. In order to make sure that doesn’t happen, replace those brake pads after three to five years, or between 50,000 and 70,000 miles, whichever comes first.

Car Battery
Your car’s battery is one of its most important parts! Therefore, it is important to keep in mind that you should replace it with a new battery every four or five years.

Engine Belt
To prevent your engine belt from becoming too worn from constant use, plan to replace it after 100,000 miles.

Headlight Bulbs
Depending on how much driving you do at night, you should plan to replace the bulbs for your headlights after five to seven years.

Windshield Wiper Blades
Unless you have experienced a severely harsh stormy season, then you should plan on replacing your windshield wiper blades every other year.

When the time comes to replace these parts on your vehicle, bring your car down to our expert service staff here at Crown Motor Company!
