All Forte models are powered by a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine rated at 147 horsepower and 132 lb-ft of torque. The FE trim comes with a six-speed manual transmission. All other models have a continuously variable transmission (CVT).
With the manual transmission, the Forte returns an EPA-estimated 27 mpg in the city, 37 mpg on the highway, and 31 mpg combined*. CVT-equipped models deliver an EPA-estimated 30 mpg in the city, 40 mpg on the highway, and 34 mpg combined*.
The Forte comes well-equipped at all trim levels. The base FE trim includes features like dual-zone automatic climate control, automatic headlights, rear air vents, an 8-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™, Bluetooth® connectivity, a USB port, and an auxiliary audio input. Standard safety features include a rearview camera, lane departure warning, lane keeping assist, and forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking.
The LXS adds driver-selectable driving modes and a split-folding rear seat. With the S trim, buyers will get a leather-wrapped steering wheel, satellite radio, and UVO communication services. The range-topping EX comes with heated side mirrors, heated and ventilated front seats, and additional USB ports.
